At Acelero Learning, we believe that all children can succeed and achieve, and we work to empower families to advocate for their children and themselves. Acelero Learning has a proven track record of producing breakthrough child outcome gains for some of America’s most at-risk children through our unique outcomes-focused approach to providing Head Start services. We currently serve more than 5,000 children and families in our Head Start centers in four states.

Welcome from the Executive Director
Michael James Maxwell, Ed.D., who joined Acelero Learning in 2020, oversees Nevada’s largest provider of Head Start services, which includes thirteen early childhood education centers across Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, and Henderson. Prior to joining Acelero Learning, Dr. Maxwell was a Manager with the Youth Development & Social Innovation Department for the City of Las Vegas, where he led early childhood education initiatives and the K-5 Community School Partnership between the City and the Clark County School District. Dr. Maxwell was also a leader for the Las Vegas My Brother’s Keeper Alliance, former President of the Nevada Association for the Education of Young Children, and former Executive Director of the Early Childhood Connection. He also spent sixteen years in the school environment, including as a Title 1 Pre-K teacher, Kindergarten teacher, and middle school Assistant Principal. Dr. Maxwell earned his Ed.D. & Master’s degrees in Educational Leadership, along with his Bachelor’s degree in Education from UNLV.
